Frost / D'Amico English Department Scholarship

The Robert Lee Frost-Vince D’Amico Poetry Award: offered each Fall. Established by Vince D’Amico (UST alum) in honor of poet Robert Frost and in remembrance of the occasion of their conversation. Open only to full-time Undergraduate English Majors, Minors, and Creative Writing Minors who will be attending UST full-time.

Supplemental Questions
  1. Writers may submit three poems, up to five pages total. Poetry submitted will be judged based on its overall quality, yet in honor of Frost’s legacy contest judges will prioritize submissions which contain qualities exemplified by Frost’s poems: a response to the natural world, richness of imagery and symbol, and an attention to formal elements. Applicants are encouraged to conduct a close reading of Frost’s poems, including “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening,” “Tree at My Window,” “After Apple Picking,” “Mowing,” and “West-Running Brook.”
