Humans of Dementia Scholarship
Scholarship Description:
Founded in 2012 by Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen, Hilarity for Charity (HFC) is a national non-profit on a mission to care for families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease, activate the next generation of advocates, and be a leader in brain health education and research. Storytelling is a powerful tool to help bring light to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. HFC’s Humans of Dementia Storytelling Scholarship is open to high school and college students who have been impacted in some way by Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia.
Scholarship Details:
Two categories for submission: written and photo
Three scholarships awarded in each category, totaling 12 awards
Open to high school and college students in the U.S. and Canada
Aims to use storytelling to drive awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
Eligibility Criteria:
Open to high school, undergraduate, or graduate students
Participants must be attending a recognized educational institution
Scholarship awards support educational, creative, or personal endeavors
Applicants must have been impacted in some way by Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia
Application Process:
Choose between the written or photo storytelling category
For written submissions: Profile someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia in 750 words or less
For photo submissions: Submit up to three images related to Alzheimer’s or dementia
Submissions should focus on the person and their story before the impact of Alzheimer’s or dementia
This scholarship focuses on storytelling as a tool to drive awareness and inspire change about Alzheimer’s disease. Students are invited to submit a written or photo profile of someone living with Alzheimer’s disease or who passed away from the disease. Scholarship Awards may be used in furtherance of educational, creative, or other personal endeavors.
