HNEF SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE TO NURSING STUDENTS

ABOUT THE HOUSTON NURSING EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

The HNEF Scholarship Program provides academic financial assistance to individuals who demonstrate the desire and ability to pursue a professional nursing career in the Greater Houston community. You can read more about HNEF and their impactful work here: www.hnef.org.
Scholarships are available to college students who have applied for admissions into a nursing program and students already accepted into/enrolled in a BSN or graduate nursing program.

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship will be awarded for the 2026-27 academic year, beginning with the summer 2026 semester. Scholarship funding can be used for tuition expenses, fees, and books.

Undergraduate students are eligible to receive $5,000 per semester, up to a maximum of four (4) total semesters.
Graduate students are eligible to receive $200 per credit hour enrolled each semester, up to a maximum of $3,000 for the academic year. Graduate students can renew the scholarship each semester they are enrolled, through graduation from the nursing program.

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
Applicant MUST be granted admission into OR currently attending the nursing program at one of the following schools:
 Houston Christian University
 Prairie View A&M University
 Texas Woman’s University
 University of Houston
 University of Houston-Clear Lake
 University of St. Thomas
 University of Texas Health Science Center
Houston
 University of Texas Medical Branch
Galveston

Applicants MUST:
 Plan to practice in the Greater Houston Area to begin their professional nursing career
 Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted)
