UNCF/UPS scholarship

The UNCF / UPS Scholars Program provides need-based awards for undergraduate students enrolled full-time in a two-year, four-year, or vocational certification degree program for the 2024-2025 academic year. Award amounts range from $1,250 to $5,000 based on the type of degree program.

· Students pursuing a vocational certification to receive up to $1,250.

· Students pursuing a two-year degree to receive up to $2,500.

· Students pursuing a four-year degree to receive up to $5,000.

1. Be a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident.

2. Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

3. Complete a 2024- 2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (“FAFSA”) form.

4. Have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by their college or university.

5. Be enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student at any accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational school in the 2024-2025 academic year.

Application Requirements:

Applicants must submit their application via UNCF’s online scholarship application portal. All parts of the application must be completed and submitted by the deadline.
Essay – Applicants must submit a one-page personal statement responding to the following prompt: “How would you use your educational journey and life experiences to create a solution for a major problem in your community, state, or nation to make a lasting impact on society and how would you engage others to help you?”
A recent official or unofficial academic transcript.

Scholars will be selected based on academic performance, the content and quality of the essay, and financial need.

An email confirmation will be sent to applicants who have submitted complete applications. If you do not receive this email, the application was probably not submitted correctly.
