HNEF SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE TO NURSING STUDENTS

The Healthcare and Nursing Education Foundation (HNEF) will be accepting applications for scholarships from students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or advanced nursing degrees. Applications will be accepted January 9, 2023 through February 28, 2023 at 11:59 pm CST.

The HNEF Scholarship Program provides academic financial assistance to individuals who demonstrate the desire and ability to pursue a professional nursing career in the Greater Houston community. Scholarships are awarded to: (1) college students who have applied for admissions into a nursing program; and (2) students already accepted into/enrolled in a BSN or advanced nursing degree program.

The selection process includes consideration of financial need, academic history, leadership ability, community involvement, and commitment to nursing. Recipients who attend school full-time and maintain their grades may qualify to receive up to $3,000 per semester for tuition, fees, and books during their nursing education at the following Houston area colleges and universities:

• Houston Baptist University
• Prairie View A&M- College of Nursing
• University of St. Thomas
• Texas Woman’s University
• University of Houston
• University of Houston-Clear Lake
• University of Texas Health Science Center Houston
• University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston

Please note: The application process is for new applicants only! Current HNEF Scholarship recipients need only to provide transcripts and schedules to renew their scholarships each semester.

Applications can be accessed and submitted online via www.ghcfscholar.org beginning on January 9, 2023.

Completed application materials are due February 28, 2023.
