UST Duty and Honor Scholarship

The University of St. Thomas has established a scholarship program for ROTC cadets who are on a scholarship and are in good standing with the Army or Air Force ROTC program at the University of Houston. The Duty and Honor Scholarship will award room and board vouchers for no more than 8 fall and spring semesters, not including summer. Awards cannot be combined with academic scholarships and students total financial aid awards cannot exceed cost of attendance. Scholarship availability is limited and is dependent on housing and fund availability. Students who fail to maintain ROTC scholarship will be charged the prorated portion of room and board.

Successful Candidate Must:
1) Be a ROTC scholarship recipient with the Army or Air Force ROTC program.
2) Enroll in 12 or more credit hours each fall and spring semester
3) Meet the following academic criteria for award, and to maintain award:

  • Incoming Freshmen: High school GPA of 3.5 or higher may receive 100% of room and board. High school GPA 3.0-3.49 may receive 50% of room and board.
  • Continuing Students: UST cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher may receive 100% of room and board. Cumulative GPA of 3.0-3.25 may receive 50% of room and board.
  • To Renew award: students with 100% award must maintain 3.25 GPA or higher. students with 50% award must maintain 3.0 GPA or higher.
